Nexus Networking members Paul Lomas and Chris Black will be attempting to ride a spinning bike for 24 hours, with the aim of raising at least £1,200 in donations, for one of our chosen charities – Brainwave. Paul is an independent energy consultant for Energycentric Ltd. as well as being one of Nexus Networking’s three co-founders. Chris works for Carpets & Floor Coverings Direct, a flooring company that cover Essex, London, Kent and the South-East.
The organisation they are raising money for is Brainwave – a charity, which specialise in therapy for children with disabilities and additional needs. Currently, Brainwave has over 600 children on programmes across their three centres in Somerset, Cheshire and Essex. Olly Murs is a patron of the Witham Brainwave Centre in Essex, which currently has around 135 children on their therapy programmes, at a cost £3,500 per child, per year. The majority of these children have autism, cerebral palsy, or downs syndrome, and many cannot walk, see, or even eat without assistance.
The event will be held from Saturday 25th, until Sunday 26th April at the Self Holistic Health and Sports Performance gym in Chelmsford. Both members and non-members are welcome to participate by riding alongside Paul and Chris, but we kindly ask that you donate £25 for every 30 minutes. The amount we raise will go towards funding a child’s therapy for a year – an amazing gift to both the child and their parents. Alternatively, if you’d simply like to donate, whether you’re a Nexus member or not, feel free contact Paul Lomas on paul.lomas@energycentric.co.uk or call 07807 494530.
