As part of our constant efforts to raise money for our chosen local charities – with the aim of bringing in a total of £3,000 for each of them – our members regularly take part in fundraising events, such as the Nuclear Races, which were held last month. This particular event was in aid of Sawyers Church, a local community group in Essex who are looking to expand their facilities to accommodate a larger capacity of attendees, a crêche, and other child-friendly apparatus, amongst other things.
Nexus co-founder, Paul Lomas, as well as other members, Sheila Moses, Lorna Boreham, Chris Black, and Kevin Unwin, were all in attendance for the 6 kilometre-long obstacle course, negotiating 85 hurdles, mudpits and climbing walls, over a 4-hour period. The perseverance through the grit and mud raised £488.26 for the Sawyers fund, taking us ever closer to that grand total. Overall, Nexus has raised over £9,822 for Sawyers Church so far, and our members will continue working hard to achieve our goal.
At Nexus we’re more than just a group of business-owners, we’re a family – a family who enjoy putting back into our community. If you’d like to sample a Nexus membership for yourself, come along to your first meeting. Just contact Paul Lomas on 07807 494530 or email paul.lomas@energycentric.co.uk to book your place.
